Dear Colleagues, 
As the leader of the Concrete Roads Focus Area at the Cement and Concrete Institute, it is my responsibility to keep you informed of new developments in the concrete pavements field and to provide services to assist you in the design and/or construction of concrete pavements.
I am aware of the unique challenges the roads industry is currently facing in South Africa, including lack of funding and a dire lack of skills. The challenge is to remain committed to providing value-added projects to Clients and adding a positive contribution to the environment. In the future all decisions will have to be based on providing sustainable solutions which must include the benefits provided by the use of sustainable materials such concrete.
May I remind you of the continuous commitment of the Cement and Concrete Institute to the industry by offering you free technical advice; an interactive website with information downloads; access to our extensive library collection and databases; publications and our other information resources.
