Statistics are submitted by AfriSam, Lafarge, NPC-Cimpor, PPC, Sephaku Cement, Ash Resources and Ulula Ash to a firm of independent auditors, who make the consolidated national monthly figure available to the C&CI for distribution.
The term ‘cementitious’ refers to cements complying with SANS 50197, SANS 50413 and cement extenders sold directly to end users.
On instruction from the Competition Commission, only one national (domestic) monthly figure will be published, excluding figures for Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland and other exports. No further breakdown will be available.
On a monthly basis, manufacturers may adjust the figures they previously submitted to the independent auditors, to compensate, inter alia, for credit notes issued, month-end consolidations, etc. Accordingly, when the independent auditors provide the Institute with the figure for the latest month, there may be adjustments to the figure for the previous month. C&CI will then update the spreadsheet on the website.
As a result of reconciling figures for 2011 the independent auditors have reported amended figures for September and October 2011. Please ensure that you always use the latest spreadsheet available on the website.
